I have no clue about the Halo wars timeline, havn't got the game was thinking of trading in some games at EB to get it. provided they accept trades for it. could you put in a bit of a description of the "factions" like explain what the covenant deployments are like and their objective, same for the marines and flood. cause at the moment i'm unsure which i want to chose. (it'll probably help others to when they get here)

Flood-They've just been awakened by the Covenant, and hunger, feed your kin, grow, and kill, then feed.....
Covenant-The holy prophet Regret has determined a Holy Artifact essential to the Great Journey on this forsaken Planet, and have come back to it to reclaim it under Covenant control.
Humans-Just recently after reclaiming Harvest, multiple covenant ships jumped in, with an intent of reclaiming the 'Ground Zero' of the War.They've found out the covenant are hunting, searching for something in the Polar regions of the planet, they must be stopped.

Backstory: Adam had longed to get back at the covenant for all the destruction they were causeing. he always wanted to take the fight to them, take or takeback something the covenant owned and Harvest was his oppertunity. Through luck his unit was chosen to go on this mission aboard the Spirit of Fire. Most of his squad survived the take back of the planet and the squad was now reformed with other Marines who wer the last remaining of their squads. Adam during the fighting racked up quiet a kill score, he didn't bother counting grunts, 10 Jackels and 3 Elites. A well placed grenade is how he gets such high kills.
